Guess who got a new camera?

ME!!!!

Out with the old:

...in with the new:

I love it. Love it. Love it. Love it.

Hopefully this new purchase will encourage me to post here more and share the AWESOME photos I'll be taking. There's so much to learn with this new camera but I'm going to love every minute of it!

We went to see Amococo at the Mesa Arts Center. The last day it will be here is March 20th so hurry and go!!
My boys LOVED it!!! They could have stayed there for hours.
It was this inflatable, architectural, light art.
I thought it was amazing!

Go. Now.

I love the pictures!
I think we need to have lunch out once in a while to share our camera tips. Can we write that off somehow to the business?

I just ran into your blog and think your pictures are amazing. My husband and I are thinking of getting a new camera but I have no idea how those things work. You just might be my inspiration to pull the trigger and make the purchase. Thanks for sharing! I even noticed that you look better from the old camera to the new one. Will that happen for me too?

Yes, Anonymous... miracles will happen with your new camera. YOU will look better, your kids will be cuter, your arms will get stronger (it's not a light camera), confidence will be built, BUT your house MAY appear more dirty. Only because the images are so clear and could show a speck of dust from across the room if you wanted it to. :)

You are a barrel of laughs. All my kiddos are out the house but I really could use a camera makeover. Last question for ya, what camera do to suggest getting and does it use film? I'm wanting a camera that let's my dreams stay big and my worries stay small. I don't want to carry more than I can hold. Hopefully you want the same thing too. At least that's my wish.

Hey Kim! So you finally believe I'm normal enough for you to share your name. :) Just kidding. Here's another test. It would be a lot easier to type all I've learned about my camera choice in an email... so... here's mine:

Kim - I bought at Canon Rebel T2i. If you are comparing Canon and Nikon, either one is great. Between the T2i and T1i, the T2i has HD video capabilities and I'm not sure how much I'll use that feature but it's there if I need it. I just bought the T2i body and bought a lens that is 18-200mm, so I wouldn't have to switch between the lens that came in the kit (18-55mm)and the telephoto lens most people end up buying (55-250mm).

Thx so much for the info. I guess lenses can get a bit tricky. I'm also looking into the NM-RT lenses. Costco has a rebel on sale and I might just go that route to start now that I know you are a Rebel gal. The Rebel seems like "just the ticket" for me.

Kim, you "clever girl" (said with an Australian accent as in Jurassic Park right before that guy gets attacked). Way to be shopping savvy! Those NM-RT lenses are great for staying out of trouble when it comes to focusing. Pricey but worth it.

Wow were starting to become real pen pals minus the pen of course. So I pulled the trigger and bought me a Rebel frem Costco but now I feel like a "rebel without a cause" because i gots no skilz. Just the name of the camera makes me feel tough and like a real bad girl. I have replaced the pink pepper spray in my purse with my Rebel and a leather jacket and I'm ready for some serious business to go down. Another woman tried to take my shopping cart today at Frys but she took one look at the heat I was packin and backed right off. I can't find a deal on NM-RT lenses but I hear that the Beehive Magazine sometimes has coupons. You can pick one up for free at Nielsons Frozen Custard. Not sure if you have ever been there.

Oooo... I LOVE the Beehive Magazine... AND I love Nielsons. I haven't been there in a while but I plan to go very soon!
As far as camera skills go... some of us just have natural talent. :) Actually, my husband wants me to find a class that will help me get the most out of the Rebel in me. I'll let you know if I find a good one.
