King Kai

So, I went to pick my boys up from nursery today and wished I had my camera on me. Kai was just sitting at the table, playing with his cars, wearing a paper crown they had made in their lesson. A few of the other children had theirs on too, but I (of course) thought Kai looked the cutest. I thought he would take it off as soon as he remembered something was on his head, but he wore it all the way home. It came off only when Griffin saw me taking pictures of Kai and didn't want to be left out. Unfortunately, Griffin's head is bigger than Kai's and it kind of ripped when being put on. How adorable is he, come on.His crown says, "I can be a good example." Why a crown? ---- I have no idea.

Happy Birthday Hope and Kevin!!

Hope is my beautiful mother-in-law (which this picture of a picture does not do justice) and Kevin is my brother. No, we didn't force him to play in the baby pool because he's "special" he just thought it would be a great photo op.

My Little Artist

I would like to share some of Griffin's drawings with the world. He has amazing talent I think for a 3 yr. old. Here he is sitting with one of his creations and inspirations. He's holding the "big Spiderman" mentioned in my first blog which was the inspiration for the drawing he is sitting next to.

Please take notice of the identifying object on the chest of drawing..... the spider. As brilliant as I think he is, there is one question/concern that continues to fester. Why does he draw everything sideways? Although this picture is vertical now, he drew it with the board horizontal. He has always drawn his figures like this. Does anyone think I should be worried? Here are some more of his creations:

I'm not completely sure the first one is a horse and he might not have even been trying to draw that, but it's good anyways. The second one is, for sure, a spider -- and an amazing one at that.

Snow White and the Ten Dwarfs

So a little over a month ago, Jeff went to this camp called The Painted Turtle in California. One of the professors in his Physical Therapy study was part of the camp and asked if there were any volunteers. There are quite a few different weeks....... dwarfism, cerebral palsy (spell?), etc. He got to go during the week of dwarfism and LOVED IT !!! One of the day's activities allowed the participants to paint and dress up the counselors in whatever they wanted. Jeff was a perfect fit for Snow White. His hair is dark and, (sorry Jeff), his skin is white as snow. Okay, not that bad, but he could use some sun. So this is a picture of him as Snow White and then with a couple kids from his group.

Again, he loved it and I think anyone can apply, so if you're interested, let me know.

As for me, I have been working full time to cover for a girl out on maternity leave. She will be back in October so I can go back to my regular 1.5 days per week which I am SOOOO excited about. AND we get the rest of this month off for our boss's houseboat trip. This is my stoked pose. I get to go down and stay with my family, attend some of my sister's VARSITY Volleyball games........Katie DeWitt, Mesa High, jersey # ?. Maybe get some Krazy Sub or perhaps a Nielsen's concrete, YUM. Although, the weather is nothing to be excited about. Living in the mountains sure spoils ya.

The Monsters In Our Lives

I finally defeated my procrastination monster and decided to start the blog I've been wanting to do. It will be used, partially, as a journal for me so I don't forget all the wonderful things my kids do. Although, I MAY complain quite a bit about these "wonderful" things.

I'm going to start right off with an issue going on the last few days. Griffin, my three year old, has finally been fighting his monster of going "yucky poopoo" in the toilet. He already received a pretty awesome toy for his first time.....a Little Einstein Rocket.

Which has since been taken away numerous times for accidents. So when he started to get on a roll again, he would ask to go to the store for a new toy almost every time. So I drew five shapes on a piece of paper, hung it on the fridge and told Griffin that each time he 'goes' he will be able to place a sticker on a shape. Once all shapes have stickers, we will go to the store to get the "big Spiderman" that he keeps asking for. I'm not quite sure what this toy is, so I hope it's within our budget. As proud as I am to say that he has completed his task, I'm a little curious at how his mind works. It's only been three days and I drew five or six shapes. It's like he rationed his outings to the toilet so he could get more than one sticker per day!
